Definition
The name of the the system of geometric crystal classes to which the space group of a crystal belongs. The crystal systems are:
- triclinic
- monoclinic
- orthorhombic
- tetragonal
- trigonal
- hexagonal
- cubic
Note that rhombohedral crystals belong to the trigonal system.
