Definition
Acronym for dictionary definition language, a machine-readable formalism for defining and describing data items in computer data exchange files. In crystallography, dictionary definition languages are employed in the Crystallographic Information Framework, and provide the basis for standard files used in the publication and database deposition of crystal structure reports.
